I was at my parent’s lake lot today enjoying the gorgeous sunshine and the sweet presence of God. Immersion in nature is a must for me. Relaxing upon the waters or sitting under the shade of the trees has provided the most intimate and divine moments of my life.
Today as I arrived Mom grabbed my hand and said, “Come here. I want to show you something. Do you see this tree? Do you see the scars on it? The men that were here working this week stood in amazement of it. They told me that the markings are from where it was hit by lightning twice and yet the tree healed and repaired itself both times and in both places. I’ve named this tree Hope and I wanted you to meet her.”
The word, “hope” is a very powerful word in the Bible. Hope. That’s what God gave me that day. It was if he was saying, “I seeee you. Now, do you see me in the restoration of this tree?” Hope! Yes, I Seeee You, Lord. HOPE.
It was only a small moment but see… I listen to every single thing you say. Intently. You touch my life, deeply. Your words are lasting and the impression you have made upon my life has left great joy, peace, kindness, and love. The Proverbs say a word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver. Your my Apple of Gold. I love you!
