This past weekend was Memorial Day and everyone couldn’t be more excited. It was an extra special day due to the fact my parent’s recently bought a gorgeous piece of property on Lake Martin. This would be our first official holiday enjoying it together as a family. The car was loaded with everything we needed. The corn toss game, bad mitten set, bubble wands, large water inflatables ready for the boat, board games, movies, smores, and of course a large cooler packed full of yummy food. Excitement was in the air! We rode to the lake in swimsuits and sun glasses with the roof top down and the radio up!
What a beautiful message. Thank you for sharing this treasure with all of us ❤️
I’m new to this blog thing and am just now finding my comments. Thank you, Cheryl. You have been such a shining, ray of encouraging sunshine in my life! Sending love!
I LOVE this piece of writing! It is so inspirational and has encouraged me greatly today! Thank you Misti.
Thank you so much for your reply, Rebecca! I’m sorry I’m delayed replying. I am getting the hang of this blog thing. 🙂 You are a wonderful soul, my friend. I so appreciate your taking the time to comment and for always being a source of precious encouragement in my life.
Misti, as always your well chosen words bring such insight and wisdom. Your children are indeed blessed to have not only a momma that loves them dearly, but one who cherishes God and finds him in the big and small spaces. You are shaping them, mentoring and encouraging your children in the Lord. You are a wonderful example to us all of not just teaching our children, but letting them catch wisdom from our actions. Thank you for sharing. I’m so excited about your blog and I know God is going to use it, and your current situation as good. Love and hugs!!! Congrats! ❤️
Lori, every time I see your name or a message from you, I smile and thank God for bringing people like you into my life. Your heart and wonderful gift of encouragement has been so sincerely appreciated by this Alabama gal! I dearly love you. These words are a treasure in themselves. There is a passage in the Bible that says “Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and and healing to the bones.” (Proverbs 16:24). Thank you for being sweet honey in my life! I love you!
This really hit home today, been thinking right along these lines a lot lately. Remembering to embrace the good and beauty of what God has put in my life and stop thinking about the “other” stuff. We miss so much when our minds and our hearts aren’t in the here and now. Thanks Misti!
Cheyney, I am so sorry for the delayed reply. This is my first blog and I am learning. Did you know you were the first comment I ever received on a blog post? That makes you extra special!! I so appreciate you for sending you kind words of encouragement my way. I am truly grateful this blessed you.
There was a moment as I was reading this when my heart felt like it was swelling up but it wasn’t at all. It was my eyes that were filling up! Then as I made it through to the end of this post, with glazed watery eyes I looked up to my hairdresser and said, “My daughter has a beautiful heart. Want me to read something to you she wrote?” Then there was two with glazed eyes! What a blessing, Miss. I love you. Touch my heart again.
Oh, Mama. If the only person that ever read the words of my heart was you, there would be enough delight in my heart from your response to fuel my pen forever. There is no greater joy than to bless the heart of my Mother. Blessing the one who has devoted her entire life to blessing me is the greatest feeling in the world! I love you with all my heart!
